writhed-billed waldens rufus-necked hornbill

Medium sized, 65cm, largely black with white tail and dark red neck feathers. It has wrinkled looking bright red-orange beak and casque. Lives deep in the forests of Panay and Negros islands, Philippines. Currently suffering a massive dying-off due to catastrophic forest destruction for wood, they are shot for food and nesting birds are taken for food and pets. Only about 2500 remain.
